Warning: This is another whiny post about how I'm sick. I have to vent it out. Lucky for you, you can read this sentence and abandon this blog post. But don't be annoyed by what I have to say I warned you.
Being sick is horrible. Ridiculously horrible. Let me tell you why.
There are all kinds of diseases...I may just have the flu, but at the moment it feels like a life ending illness. First world problem, but whateves to that! I dislike it when someone tells me to get over it. I just want to yell at them you go get a flu shot and tell me how you feel!! Yet somehow I resist... Or simply say you don't know my life.
Just in case you are starting to doubt my sickness expertise let me assure you I have been sick enough times in my life to know what's up. Until I had surgery in August my life was full of illnesses. There is nothing worse than sinus infections...they are a ridiculous incurable disease that does nothing but cause you pain. Lots and lots of awkward discomfort. Just ask my roommates about the time I had to rinse my face and water wouldn't stop falling out of my face. Anyway back to my current illnesses
Have you ever been sick, but had to leave the house? You absolutely have to there is no way around it. So you face the conundrum of if you should get dressed or not. It is always a ten minute battle with myself. I am not ready for jeans, no one should have to wear those when they're sick. But I should probably at least change out of my pajamas...sweats and a hoodie it is...every time. Then you get out in public and the whole world judges you. You get the "how dare you come out in public looks", the "are you for real wearing that", "did you even fix your hair today". The answer to all of these questions is bite me. I have the flu dang it and I got hungry. You would be in the same boat if you were me right now. I think that is a common side effect of illness. The lack of effort in getting ready for life.
I also develop some individual sickness side effects...
Half of my face always suffers. Only half. It's always the right side. It's supposed to be part of my sinus issues, but it is so weird every time. My right ear always aches and my right eye develops this bizarre twitch. Like for real it is so WEIRD. It gets all swollen and it tears up every five seconds. It looks like I'm crying all the time, but only out of one eye. I can only imagine what it must look like to other people.
My second, weirdest problem is that I get so cuddly. I hate touching HATE IT. But as soon as I'm sick all of that goes away. It is so strange! There is nothing I want more than a boy to cuddle with when I'm ill. I don't understand! To conquer these feelings I just carry my pillow around and cuddle with that. The only nice thing about this is that I can always tell when I'm starting to get sick cause all the sudden I just wanta hug people...that's how I know it's time for the pillow.
I also am hungry...all the time. Normally I don't eat a lot but look out when I'm sick I will literally eat the WHOLE house! The worst part is I regret this every time...it just makes me hurt that much more. Never ends well...ever.
My newest sickness dilemma is that I have a job! Ah it kills me when I think about the money I'm losing by sitting in bed and sleeping. The worst part of this current illness is how I got it. Both the kids I work with got the flu and I survived!! The flu was not going to touch me, but alas I fell to the infamous flu shot! Deceived by my doctor I was tricked into paying for the injection of the virus into my arm...and now death. This is all I have to say on the subject of disease for now, but if you don't hear for me for awhile know that I love you all. The flu may win, but I will try my hardest to fight it. I will overcome!

I believe...
I believe that we will win! Ok, that actually has nothing to do with this blog but I had to say it. Anyway this is a very deep post...false. It isn't. It is simply about the ridiculous things that I love. Pretty much this blog is to preserve my absurd identity so I can read it when I come home from my mission and transition through the awkward missionary phase. To the "I believe" statements!
I believe...
That you're never too old to have fun.
In staying up late and making memories. Life will never be the way it is in that exact moment again. So embrace it and live it up.
In being too loud and not worrying about what others think.
Nothing is silly. If you're having fun and helping others enjoy themselves do it.
Video games all day are stupid.
One of the best noises in the world is the sound of rushing water. Like in fountains and waterfalls.
The world is a beautiful place. We need to remember to stop and look around every once in a while.
People are important. Put aside your homework, your time, and yourself to help those that need it. You don't know the effect you're having on their lives. It could be exactly what they need.
In watching football and yelling at the top of your lungs, even if they can't hear you through the TV.
In loyalty. Never forget the good things people do for you. One day you'll need them.
In the little things. When you add them all up they can make a difference.
In doorknobs.
in just writing this and not fixing my horrible grammar.
In being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
In serving my Church for eighteen months
In snickers. they're delicious.
In being stubborn. I'm real good at it.
In having rainbow colors in my hair.
In wearing sweats. every day. all day. forever.
in leaving the house without any makeup. yup. did it today.
that people can change.
in bunnies. they're just so cute.
in all animals. i love em. i mean i was an ag major once. woot pre vet.
in not knowing your exact path in life. yeah i'm undeclared and not afraid to show it.
in singing as loud as you can and sounding horrible.
in eating as much as i want. let's be honest i couldn't add up all the calories i'd be counting anyway.
in pinterest. that addictive booger.
in blogging...obviously
in being girly sometimes. like my addiction for One Direction and Pretty Little Liars
in not being too girly. i like to watch football and refuse to cry.
in being passionate about something.
in trying your dreams. even if they don't work. huzzah forever of softball.
in saying the word huzzah.
in being sarcastic.
in eating cake..lots and lots of cake.
in walking around outside barefoot.
in too much sunshine and country music.
in county fairs.
in small towns.
in country roads lined with picket fences and fields full of horses and cattle
in sheep. those frustrating little punks.

Doctors, they sicken me.
Ah!! I dislike doctors so much, especially right now. (Also I thought my title was pretty clever, high five for me) Doctors. Suck. I know I know that they save lives and such, but if you don't need them to save your life they're pretty good at ruining it!
First of all when do you go to the doctor? Typically it isn't when the world is full of sunshine and rainbows it's when you are in pain and hating everyone and everything. Doctors never truly have good things to say. True it can always be worse, but something is still wrong with you. They do cruel things like put you in an itchy cast, shove you in a dark tube where you can't move for two hours, and give you drugs that make you insane. All in the name of science.
The worst things doctors do is lie to you!!! They always say this isn't going to hurt...it always hurts. Or they talk to you as a distraction and hurry and stab you with a needle. Or they tell you there is NO way the Flu shot is going to make you sick. LIES! ALL LIES! I got my very first Flu shot yesterday and let me tell you it made me quite ill. Really if I had know it would have done this to me I would have grabbed one of the little kids from work with the Flu and had them cough on me. I think it would have worked the same.
I had the craziest night sleep ever! My whole body just ached which was followed by some lovely trips to empty my entire stomach. And I'm pretty sure I had some hard core hallucinations going on...could have been a dream though. I will probably never know. Thank you Doc. And today ah! Chasing a three year old and a six year old while trying not to sneeze so hard I fall over is ridiculously difficult.
This is my vent to you doctors who lie to there patients. This is my glare face and I am not happy.
(realize that this is a very sarcastic post. i realize doctors do wonderful things and such and that my life could be much worse, but at the moment I hate the Flu shot)

My kind of Sunday
I love Sundays. They really are the best. So many good things happen on Sundays. You start the day of with the wonderful gospel and three hours of Church. Sometimes I know three hours can be a little rough, but those days where you sincerely try to learn something from every lesson is just fantastic. Sacrament meetings are always great. You learning about the gospel and surrounded by a community of people who will always be there for you.
As much as I love Sundays I must say there are differences between Sundays at school and Sundays at home.
Sundays at school are full of:
-Meetings. So many meetings. But I must confess those are my favorite! Temple prep with Brother Jensen and all the other future missionaries really was great. Meetings with the Bishop were also fantastic. I really liked trying to find ways to reach out and help everyone in the ward. But my favorite part of meetings is the time in between. You know when you don't have enough time to walk back to your dorm so you sit in the foyer and talk with everyone that comes in. Some of my favorite Sunday memories are from the inbetween meeting times.
-Ward Prayer: I don't really know why I enjoy ward prayer so much (I mean it interrupts football) but I do. I like knowing the gospel means enough to everyone that they will get up and put aside the things they are doing to go back to the church for a five minute devotional.
-All the firesides: I LOVE FIRESIDES! It took me awhile to fully appreciate Sundays at college because you really don't get a time to rest. It can be meetings from eight in the morning all the way to nine at night. But if you think about it that's kind of great. You have the spirit with you and are thinking about the gospel for a full day once a week. Pretty legit.
-Friends. Sundays are one of the only days that everyone is home chilling in the dorm room. It's one of the only days where we are all together and even in the same room. There are some pretty great quotes on the quotewall from Sunday nights.
-Singing Hymns: Choir has never really been my thing because I have to perform in front of people...Hate that. But when we would go over the church, just a group of friends, and sing hymns and primary songs I really enjoyed it. Sitting around the piano listening to Steven and Taylor belt out Follow the Prophet will forever be one of my favorite college memories.
Sundays at home:
-Family: Hands down the best part of being home. Really Sundays are full of nothing else but family. We go to church and sit a pew all together. My brothers may take turns drawing things to predict future ruin in my life, but really I love it. I know some people think that is a little irreverent, but that's how my family does it. We may not be the most reverent bunch, but we are close and will enjoy eternity together. After church we have the whole day to do nothing but be together. We always play games and watch football. It is something that my Sunday wouldn't be the same without.
Football: This is another thing that lots of people disapprove of doing on Sunday. They can bite me. (Kidding you're entitled to your own opinion) But really. I love football. Part of the reason I think I love football is because it is another way for my family to come together. We all have our favorite teams that we cheer for (even Cade) and can practice are sarcasm on each other. I love it and my family will watch football on Sunday, dang it!
-Primary kids: Most college wards are missing children. I didn't realize until my first year of school how much I would miss them. I love sitting behind a cute little family and making faces at the baby so they will smile. I love hearing little kids bear their testimonies and sing at the top of their lungs.
No matter where I am on Sunday it manages to always be a great day. It is a day of rest that we dedicate to the Savior. What could be greater than that?

The Sassy Cassie
This is my blog of crazy, sassy, and weirdness. I know I have another blog and am part of quite a few, but the other day I realized blogging has become an addiction. And sometimes to fill this addiction I want to blog random things that only make sense to me. Things like this don't really belong on my other blog. And one day I won't be getting ready for a mission or be a missionary and my thoughts will no longer fit in on my missionary blog. So the blog of Sassy Cassie has begun! Prepare your selves for random thoughts and extremely random ideas. It's gonna be pretty epic. Lets say that we are about to embark on an epic jouney...an epic journey of blogging...

Knoxville, Tennessee!
This post is dedicated to Samantha because when I got my mission call she made me a blog post all about Georgia!!!
Sorry Sam but this was the first thing I thought of when you got your call...Are you from Tennessee because you're the only ten I see! Haha!
Alright in all seriousness here come random facts of awesome about your future missionary homeland!
Sorry Sam but this was the first thing I thought of when you got your call...Are you from Tennessee because you're the only ten I see! Haha!
Alright in all seriousness here come random facts of awesome about your future missionary homeland!
- The first Kentucky Derby winner was bred in Tennessee
- Full of country music!
- There are more horses in Tennessee per capita than any other state
- It is the turtle capital of the world
- Tennessee has more than 3,800 caves
- Birthplace of the KKK
- Knoxville's nickname is the Marble City
- Butch Cassidy once escaped from the Knoxville county jail
- There's a Knoxville Georgia!
- Mountain Dew was invented in Knoxville
- Knoxville has the nation's largest firework display for Labor Day
- You have the University of Tennessee! They're bright yellow and have a FANTASTIC softball team
Do you recognize this picture?! That's right you're right in the middle of the bible belt too!! I knew we should have read the bible more...
82% of Tennessee is christian, 39% is baptist, 10% Methodist and a whole bunch of other little ones. Tennessee is home to several Protestant denominations, such as the National Baptist Convention, the Church of God in Christ, and the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
You have an NFL football team too!! They kinda suck but oh well!! Say hello to the Tennessee Titans.
I used to love the Tennessee Volunteers. They had this pitcher named Monica Abbott she is the bomb!!! And Dedee Trotter the Olympic sprinter graduated from there.
I'm pretty sure this is the closet temple to you...Nashville
According to urban dictionary Knoxville is home to beautiful views of the Smoky mountains, friendly folks, sundown in the city, great bars and local bands, and the kick butt University of Tennessee Volunteers who will forevermore be more talented and better looking than the Florida Gators!
Also beautiful picture of a famous Tennessee horse farm...
They have huge gorgeous houses and they're always lined with cute little white picket fences.
Anyway Knoxville looks pretty awesome. I know that they will love you there Sam and that this really is where you're supposed to go. People are waiting for the gospel and they're waiting for you to teach it to them! Thanks for the example you've always been Sam!
